Auction result misses estimated price range
In July last year a collector was able to acquire the work The Fool and the Foolish Woman by Hans Sebald Beham for GBP 630.00 (€ 752.33). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper: Drawings, Watercolours and Prints 1500-1900 at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Sebald Beham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Recto: A Putto Standing Beside A Flaming Urn Verso: Four Studies Of Men'S Heads in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 48,000.00 (€ 71,291.08).
