A top price for Hans Schäufelein the Elder - as previously expected
In January 2002 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Drawings including Property from, which included the work Portrait of a man, bust-length, wearing a hat by Hans Schäufelein the Elder. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 270,000.00 (€ 314,172.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Portrait of a man, bust-length, wearing a hat is the most expensive artwork by Hans Schäufelein the Elder that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Januar 2002 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Old Master and 19th Century Drawings including Property from durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of a man, bust-length, wearing a hat von Hans Schäufelein the Elder zur Versteigerung kam.
