Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction WORKS OF ART FROM THE ESTATE OF THE LATE LORD FARNHAM, which included the work The wedding dance by Hans Schäufelein the Elder. The price achieved of GBP 70.50 (€ 110.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50.00 – 100.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Schäufelein the Elder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a man, bust-length, wearing a hat in January 2002 with an auction result of USD 270,000.00 (€ 314,172.68).
