In September 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Untitled, 1960 by Hannah Wilke. The auction ended at the price of USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,581.31), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hannah Wilke achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work S.O.S. Starification Object Series in September 2017 with an auction result of USD 708,500.00 (€ 599,762.97).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im September 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, 1960 von Hannah Wilke zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.581,31) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hannah Wilke erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit S.O.S. Starification Object Series im September 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 708.500,00 (€ 599.762,97).
