This artwork by Hafidh al-Droubi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in November this year. In the Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art auction, the work View of the Tigris sold for GBP 37,800.00 (€ 43,801.98) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hafidh al-Droubi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Kadhimain Alley sold at auction in November 2021 with the realized price of GBP 52,500.00 (€ 61,639.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hafidh al-Droubi erzielte im November diesen Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Middle Eastern Art wurde die Arbeit View of the Tigris für GBP 37.800,00 (€ 43.801,98) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Hafidh al-Droubi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Kadhimain Alley im November 2021 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 52.500,00 (€ 61.639,94).
