Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kimono Temple by Haegue Yang was sold in the 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. It changed hands for a price of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 29,069.62) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 180,000.00 – 280,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Haegue Yang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Central Composition in Explosion – Trustworthy ‘For Sophie Taeuber’ #184, which sold at auction in July 2020 for HKD 812,500.00 (€ 89,020.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Kimono Temple von Haegue Yang wurde im Mai 2021 in der Auktion 20th and 21st Century Art Afternoon Session bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 29.069,62) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 180.000,00 – 280.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Haegue Yang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Central Composition in Explosion – Trustworthy ‘For Sophie Taeuber’ #184 beobachtet, die im Juli 2020 für HKD 812.500,00 (€ 89.020,30) versteigert wurde.
