Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by György Kepes was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November last year. The price achieved of USD 1,800.00 (€ 1,743.68) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by György Kepes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 23,825.00 (€ 21,467.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von György Kepes wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.800,00 (€ 1.743,68) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von György Kepes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.825,00 (€ 21.467,83).
