Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Maze by György Kepes was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November last year. It achieved a price of USD 3,570.00 (€ 3,458.30), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 19%. Admittedly, works by György Kepes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 23,825.00 (€ 21,467.83).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Maze von György Kepes wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 3.570,00 (€ 3.458,30) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 19%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von György Kepes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.825,00 (€ 21.467,83).
