The work Garden by György Kepes was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November last year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,167.50 (€ 2,099.68), 45% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by György Kepes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 23,825.00 (€ 21,467.83).

Die Arbeit Garden von György Kepes wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.167,50 (€ 2.099,68) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von György Kepes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.825,00 (€ 21.467,83).
