Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Black and Mauve by György Kepes was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November last year. The price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,470.21) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by György Kepes have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2020 with an auction result of USD 23,825.00 (€ 21,467.83).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Black and Mauve von György Kepes wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.470,21) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von György Kepes auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.825,00 (€ 21.467,83).
