Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gazebo by Gwyther Irwin was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Sothebys in London in October 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 14,339.71) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gwyther Irwin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work West Of Thornton in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 45,600.00 (€ 67,726.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gazebo von Gwyther Irwin wurde im Oktober 2008 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 14.339,71) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gwyther Irwin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit West Of Thornton im Juli 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.600,00 (€ 67.726,53).
