Auction result well in line with expectations
In August this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction American Art Online, which included the work George by Gwynn Murrill. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,440.00 (€ 5,018.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gwynn Murrill - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Cougar III, which sold at auction in April 2019 for USD 21,325.00 (€ 19,038.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit George von Gwynn Murrill zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 5.440,00 (€ 5.018,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gwynn Murrill mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Cougar III beobachtet, die im April 2019 für USD 21.325,00 (€ 19.038,48) versteigert wurde.
