Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Winter in the Country by Guy Wiggins was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in March 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 7,500.00 (€ 5,544.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Wiggins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The New York Stock Exchange in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 374,400.00 (€ 316,162.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Winter in the Country von Guy Wiggins wurde im März 2010 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 5.544,88) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Wiggins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The New York Stock Exchange im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 374.400,00 (€ 316.162,81).
