Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In September 2009 Christies in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work On the Cornish Coast by Guy Wiggins. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,500.00 (€ 8,544.09). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Wiggins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The New York Stock Exchange in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 374,400.00 (€ 316,162.81).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im September 2009 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the Cornish Coast von Guy Wiggins zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.500,00 (€ 8.544,09) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Wiggins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The New York Stock Exchange im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 374.400,00 (€ 316.162,81).
