The »bidding war« ended at USD 91,000.00 (€ 57,576.72), 52% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Guy Wiggins have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The New York Stock Exchange in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 374,400.00 (€ 316,162.81).

Die Arbeit Early Evening At The Plaza von Guy Wiggins wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion American Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 91.000,00 (€ 57.576,72) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Guy Wiggins auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The New York Stock Exchange im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 374.400,00 (€ 316.162,81).
