Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Charles Jourdan', Autumn 1979 by Guy Bourdin was sold in the Photographs auction at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,190.38) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Guy Bourdin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French Vogue, March 1972, which sold at auction in May 2017 for GBP 50,000.00 (€ 57,427.02).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit 'Charles Jourdan', Autumn 1979 von Guy Bourdin wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion Photographs bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.190,38) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Guy Bourdin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French Vogue, March 1972 beobachtet, die im Mai 2017 für GBP 50.000,00 (€ 57.427,02) versteigert wurde.
