In November 2012 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Niña con jícara by Gustavo Montoya. The result of USD 10,000.00 (€ 7,686.40) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Gustavo Montoya have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Gustavo Montoya (1905-2003) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,489.29).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im November 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Niña con jícara von Gustavo Montoya zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 7.686,40) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustavo Montoya auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Gustavo Montoya (1905-2003) im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 37.489,29).
