This artwork by Gustave Alaux achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2010. In the Travel, Science and Natural History auction, the work Figures on a quayside with shipping beyond, Brazil sold for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,951.67) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gustave Alaux; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Danse Au Bord De La Mer ; Promenade Du Soir sold at auction in June 2007 with the realized price of EUR 14,400.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Gustave Alaux erzielte im September 2010 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Travel, Science and Natural History wurde die Arbeit Figures on a quayside with shipping beyond, Brazil für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.951,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gustave Alaux; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Danse Au Bord De La Mer ; Promenade Du Soir im Juni 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 14.400,00.
