Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 534,000.00 (€ 596,115.20) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gustav Bauernfeind have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Market In Jaffa in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,728,900.00 (€ 4,325,256.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The Wailing Wall, Jerusalem von Gustav Bauernfeind kam im November 2001 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 534.000,00 (€ 596.115,20) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustav Bauernfeind auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Market In Jaffa im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.728.900,00 (€ 4.325.256,58).
