Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Important Works from the Najd Collection, Part II, which included the work Procession In Jaffa by Gustav Bauernfeind. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,695,000.00 (€ 1,866,748.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustav Bauernfeind - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Market In Jaffa, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 3,728,900.00 (€ 4,325,256.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2020 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Important Works from the Najd Collection, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Procession In Jaffa von Gustav Bauernfeind zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500.000,00 – 2.500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.695.000,00 (€ 1.866.748,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Gustav Bauernfeind mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Market In Jaffa beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 3.728.900,00 (€ 4.325.256,58) versteigert wurde.
