In April 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction The Orientalist Sale, which included the work German a Well In Jaffa by Gustav Bauernfeind. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 33,750.00 (€ 40,078.71), 69% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustav Bauernfeind achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Market In Jaffa in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,728,900.00 (€ 4,325,256.58).

Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion The Orientalist Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit German a Well In Jaffa von Gustav Bauernfeind zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 33.750,00 (€ 40.078,71) und damit 69% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustav Bauernfeind erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Market In Jaffa im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.728.900,00 (€ 4.325.256,58).
