Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The plains of Jericho by Gustav Bauernfeind was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in London in April 2001. The price achieved of GBP 1,645.00 (€ 2,651.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustav Bauernfeind achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Market In Jaffa in October 2019 with an auction result of GBP 3,728,900.00 (€ 4,325,256.58).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit The plains of Jericho von Gustav Bauernfeind wurde im April 2001 in der Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.645,00 (€ 2.651,95) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustav Bauernfeind erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Market In Jaffa im Oktober 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.728.900,00 (€ 4.325.256,58).
