Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Two Birds on Palm Tree by Guo Dawei for HKD 1,657.50 (€ 184.37). This price was achieved in the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online at Bonhams in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guo Dawei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zhou Zhou in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,558.56).
