Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Guo Dawei could be acquired at Bonhams in Hong Kong in October 2021 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art Online auction, the work Flying Kite changed hands for HKD 1,657.50 (€ 184.37) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of HKD 6,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guo Dawei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zhou Zhou in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,558.56).
