Upper estimate price exceeded by 76 %.
This artwork by Gui Changshi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction, the work Ink Bamboos; Poem In Cursive Script sold for HKD 352,800.00 (€ 37,772.77) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 200,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gui Changshi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Five-Character Poems In Cursive Script sold at auction in November 2013 with the realized price of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 45,035.28).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 76 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gui Changshi erzielte im April 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Ink Bamboos; Poem In Cursive Script für HKD 352.800,00 (€ 37.772,77) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 200.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Gui Changshi; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Five-Character Poems In Cursive Script im November 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 475.000,00 (€ 45.035,28).
