The work Bamboo And Rock by Gui Changshi was worth HKD 300,000.00 (€ 33,370.84) to a buyer in October 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Classical Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy at China Guardian and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gui Changshi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Five-Character Poems In Cursive Script sold at auction in November 2013 with the realized price of HKD 475,000.00 (€ 45,035.28).
