Upper estimate price exceeded by 42 %.
In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Paintings, which included the work Reading by the Lake by Gu Linshi. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 226,800.00 (€ 27,421.77), 42% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gu Linshi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Landscape in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 1,360,000.00 (€ 129,056.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 42 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reading by the Lake von Gu Linshi zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 226.800,00 (€ 27.421,77) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gu Linshi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Landscape im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.360.000,00 (€ 129.056,94).
