Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Ladies Doing Needlework on a Garden Terrace by Gu Jianlong was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2003. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,975.00 (€ 3,621.21) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gu Jianlong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peach Blossom Spring in September 2016 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 46,716.50).

Die Arbeit Ladies Doing Needlework on a Garden Terrace von Gu Jianlong kam im September 2003 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.975,00 (€ 3.621,21) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gu Jianlong erzielen.
