The work Male Nude by Greg Gorman was sold in the Photographs auction at Bonhams in New York in April 2021. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,589.78), 59% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Greg Gorman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Iman, Los Angeles, 1988 in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,128.15).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 59 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Male Nude von Greg Gorman wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Photographs bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.589,78) und damit 59% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Greg Gorman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Iman, Los Angeles, 1988 im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.128,15).
