Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Bonhams in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Tony Ward Bent Over, Los Angeles by Greg Gorman. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,040.00 (€ 1,765.93) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Greg Gorman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Iman, Los Angeles, 1988 in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,128.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tony Ward Bent Over, Los Angeles von Greg Gorman zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.040,00 (€ 1.765,93) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Greg Gorman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Iman, Los Angeles, 1988 im November 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.128,15).
