Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cromer - Abstract Composition May 1949 by Grace Pailthorpe was sold in the The Poetry of Crisis; The Peter Nahum Collection of British Surrealist and Avant-Garde Art 1930-1951 auction at Christies in London in November 2006. The price achieved of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,138.45) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grace Pailthorpe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans titre in March this year with an auction result of EUR 21,675.00.

Die Arbeit Cromer - Abstract Composition May 1949 von Grace Pailthorpe wurde im November 2006 in der Auktion The Poetry of Crisis; The Peter Nahum Collection of British Surrealist and Avant-Garde Art 1930-1951 bei Christies in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.138,45) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden.
