Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Grace Pailthorpe achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in September last year. In the Blazing a TrailModern British Women auction, the work without title sold for GBP 10,837.50 (€ 12,334.12) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 5,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Grace Pailthorpe; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Sans titre sold at auction in March this year with the realized price of EUR 21,675.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Grace Pailthorpe erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Blazing a TrailModern British Women wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für GBP 10.837,50 (€ 12.334,12) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 5.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Grace Pailthorpe; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Sans titre im März diesen Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 21.675,00.
