Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture, which included the work Shy One by Grace Carpenter Hudson. The price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,436.66) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Grace Carpenter Hudson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Watermelon 24 x 29 1/2 in. framed 31 x 37 in. in November last year with an auction result of USD 69,675.00 (€ 67,494.91).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shy One von Grace Carpenter Hudson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.436,66) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Grace Carpenter Hudson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Watermelon 24 x 29 1/2 in. framed 31 x 37 in. im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 69.675,00 (€ 67.494,91).
