In September 2010 Christies in London held the auction Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera, which included the work Automobile Manufacturing, 1940 by Gordon Coster. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,168.64), 25% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gordon Coster - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bicycle Racer, which sold at auction in October 2018 for USD 6,875.00 (€ 6,066.89).

Im September 2010 führte Christies in London die Auktion Lehman Brothers: Artwork and Ephemera durch, in der auch die Arbeit Automobile Manufacturing, 1940 von Gordon Coster zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.168,64) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Gordon Coster mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bicycle Racer beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für USD 6.875,00 (€ 6.066,89) versteigert wurde.
