Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Bonhams in Los Angeles held the auction California and Western Art Online, which included the work Morocco 28 x 24 in. framed 35 1/2 x 31 1/2 in. by Gordon Coutts. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,400.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,536.00 (€ 1,408.14) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gordon Coutts have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work On Homeward Trail in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 12,575.00 (€ 11,226.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Los Angeles die Auktion California and Western Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Morocco 28 x 24 in. framed 35 1/2 x 31 1/2 in. von Gordon Coutts zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.400,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.536,00 (€ 1.408,14) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gordon Coutts auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit On Homeward Trail im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 12.575,00 (€ 11.226,68).
