Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work American Abdul Kirim, Morocco by Gordon Coutts was sold in the 19th Century European Art including The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in New York in October 2008. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,625.00 (€ 8,378.02), 18% above the upper estimate. Other works by Gordon Coutts have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of USD 12,575.00 (€ 11,226.68) in April 2019 for the work On Homeward Trail.
