Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Notes to Basquiat: Female Pelvis by Gordon Bennett was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in November 2003. The price achieved of AUD 4,700.00 (€ 2,835.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gordon Bennett achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self Portrait (But I Always Wanted To Be One Of The Good Guys) in December 2019 with an auction result of USD 437,500.00 (€ 389,685.58).

Die Arbeit Notes to Basquiat: Female Pelvis von Gordon Bennett kam im November 2003 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 4.700,00 (€ 2.835,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gordon Bennett erzielen.
