In October this year Bonhams held the auction POP X Culture, which included the work Black Rage, 2015 by Glenn Ligon. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,840.00 (€ 4,409.39), 28% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Glenn Ligon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (I Was Somebody) in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 3,973,000.00 (€ 3,194,243.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 28 % übertroffen
Im Oktober diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion POP X Culture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Black Rage, 2015 von Glenn Ligon zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.840,00 (€ 4.409,39) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Glenn Ligon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (I Was Somebody) im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.973.000,00 (€ 3.194.243,45).
