This price was achieved in the auction ARTE MODERNA E CONTEMPORANEA at Christies in Milan and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of ITL 3,000,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Giuseppe Zigaina; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Senza titolo sold at auction in November 2000 with the realized price of ITL 12,337,500.00 (€ 11,352.66).
