the set of 12 etchings, the complete, monumental panorama of the city of Rome, circa 1745-65, on wove paper, very good impressions, a uniform set, on six large and six smaller sheets, loose (as issued), probably from a slightly later edition (first published in Rome, 1765), the full sheets with margins, some with deckle edges, some minor creases and some surface dirt, foxing and stains in the margins, generally in good condition

This artwork by Giuseppe Vasi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2011. In the Old Master, Modern & Contemporary Prints, including Property from the Estate of Ernst Beyeler auction, the work Prospetto del 'Alma Cittá di Roma visto dal Monte Gianicolo sold for GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,973.68) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 7,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Giuseppe Vasi; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Prospetto dell'Alma Cittá di Roma visto dal Monte Gianicolo sold at auction in December 2019 with the realized price of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,728.24).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Giuseppe Vasi erzielte im September 2011 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis.
