The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,187.50 (€ 1,336.73), 48% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Giuseppe Giardiello have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A family gathering, Naples in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 6,273.43).

Die Arbeit A loving family von Giuseppe Giardiello wurde im Januar 2009 in der Auktion Christie's Interiors bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.187,50 (€ 1.336,73) und damit 48% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Giuseppe Giardiello auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A family gathering, Naples im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 6.273,43).
