This artwork by Giuseppe Gabellone achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2002. In the Post-War and Contemporary auction, the work Tank sold for GBP 5,975.00 (€ 9,451.40) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Giuseppe Gabellone; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in June 2012 with the realized price of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 13,930.18).
