The work Scena di Pesca A Ischia by Giuseppe Carelli was sold in the 19th Century Pictures auction at Christies in Rome in June 2006. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 12,152.00 52% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Giuseppe Carelli; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Vedute Della Costiera Amalfitana sold at auction in December 2008 with the realized price of EUR 15,000.00.
