Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2009 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings, Including European Works of Art, which included the work The Annunciation by Giulio Cesare Procaccini. Here, the upper estimate of USD 350,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 362,500.00 (€ 283,114.65). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Giulio Cesare Procaccini - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Judith with the Head of Holofernes, which sold at auction in January 2024 for USD 1,134,000.00 (€ 991,085.47).
