In January 2024 Christies in New York held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Judith with the Head of Holofernes by Giulio Cesare Procaccini. The price achieved of USD 1,134,000.00 (€ 991,085.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Judith with the Head of Holofernes is the most expensive artwork by Giulio Cesare Procaccini that we have observed at auctions so far.
