Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Recto: Christ On The Way To Calvary And Another Group Of Figures; Verso: The Entombment by Giulio Cesare Procaccini was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 21,250.00 (€ 24,387.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giulio Cesare Procaccini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Judith with the Head of Holofernes in January 2024 with an auction result of USD 1,134,000.00 (€ 991,085.47).

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 21.250,00 (€ 24.387,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
