This artwork by Giulio Cesare Procaccini achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2008. In the Old Master And 19th Century Drawings auction, the work A sheet of studies of standing, seated and reclining figures and the Madonna and Child seated (recto), Saint Margaret and other figures (verso) sold for USD 103,000.00 (€ 69,402.33) - well above the upper estimate of USD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Giulio Cesare Procaccini achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Judith with the Head of Holofernes in January 2024 with an auction result of USD 1,134,000.00 (€ 991,085.47).
