Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Judith Displaying The Head Of Holofernes To The Bethulians by Girolamo Troppa was sold in the Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in May 2019. The price achieved of USD 17,500.00 (€ 15,696.48) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Girolamo Troppa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Healing of Tobias, which sold at auction in March 2017 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 51,270.68).
