Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Vessels In The Bay Of Naples, Vesuvius Beyond by Girolamo Gianni was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2015. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,739.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Girolamo Gianni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian panoramic View Of Constantinople, View From Beyazit in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 163,250.00 (€ 186,676.87).
