Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Royal & Noble, which included the work A British Man of War in Valletta Harbour, Malta by Girolamo Gianni. The price achieved of GBP 4,410.00 (€ 4,987.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Girolamo Gianni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Italian panoramic View Of Constantinople, View From Beyazit in May 2011 with an auction result of GBP 163,250.00 (€ 186,676.87).

Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Royal & Noble durch, in der auch die Arbeit A British Man of War in Valletta Harbour, Malta von Girolamo Gianni zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.410,00 (€ 4.987,10) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Girolamo Gianni erzielen.
